Chair Report - March 2019

ISSBA Chair, Samuel Stamp-Dod, offers a snapshot of the latest ISSBA news.

Samuel Stamp DodHello all. I hope you are all having a good 2019 so far.

Thanks to everyone that came to our February networking event and special thanks to Emma’s Florist for sponsoring the event and welcoming us into their new shop. It was lovely to network amongst some stunning floral displays to really give us a spring time feeling. You can read a review of the event here. We are really looking forward to our March social event on the 12th where we will be having a go at indoor drone racing – I hope to see lots of you there!

Our March networking event is on 28th March at Old Jet, Rendlesham so don’t forget to book your place. Old Jet is a unique arts centre on the old ex-U.S. Air Force Base, Bentwaters Parks. Thank you to them for sponsoring and we are excited to see what they do there.

Anglia Business Exhibition 2019 – there are now just two sponsorship stands available and exhibitor stands have sold out! Call Kirsty Brown on 01473 927331 or Sonia Shelcott on 01473 410278 if you’d like to find out more. ABE19 will take place on 15th May 2019 at Trinity Park and promises to be a fantastic event with workshops, speed networking and over 1500 visitors expected. Visit www.angliabusinessexhibition.com for further information.

Staying with the theme of ABE, Roger Barcham (BMS Imaging) has kindly written this month’s Business Focus piece this month telling you why the free exhibitor briefing is a must for all ABE exhibitors. Roger has been involved with ABE for many years and has a wealth of knowledge and experience so read his article here.

Our March Member of the Month is Fleximize. They have a fantastic achievement to share with fellow members. Read their news here.

Our new Recommend a Friend scheme is starting to take off, it is great to see ISSBA members benefiting from this. Any current ISSBA member will get one month's free membership for each new member they recommend, plus the new member also gets one free month, so Win-Win! There are no limits to how many referrals each ISSBA member can make as long as you have a current, paid up membership, so if you bring in 12 new members you'll get a whole year for free!

GoCardless is making the renewal process much easier for many of our members. If you haven’t signed up yet, either let us know on mail@issba.co.uk or keep an eye on your inbox for an authorisation request. GoCardless is a direct debit system fully protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee and means that you never need to worry about forgetting to renew again.  By signing up to this you will help your committee save valuable time in chasing renewals, so please, if you aren’t already signed up, please do!

Don’t forget that if you have any suggestions/comments or would like to be considered for a future Member of the Month feature or you would like to write a business focus piece, please get in touch on mail@issba.co.uk.
