Chair Report - July 2019

ISSBA Chair, Samuel Stamp-Dod, offers a snapshot of the latest ISSBA news.

Samuel Stamp DodHello all. Welcome to our July newsletter. I hope you’ve all been enjoying the lovely weather.

Our June networking event was at All Manor of Events, thank you to them for sponsoring. It was a lovely morning and we all enjoyed having a tour around their brand new glamping pods. You can read a review of the event here.

ISSBA’s 2019 AGM is on 17th July and we would like to see as many members there as possible. It is free to attend but please book your place. This is a great chance to find out news, updates and to ask questions or put your ideas across. This years AGM will be at Ufford Park, Woodbridge and there will plenty of time for networking along with some delicious refreshments.

Boleyn Events/Funding Falcon have been ISSBA members for many, many years so for our July Business Focus piece, they tell us what being an ISSBA member has done for them. Read the article here.

Our July Member of the Month is the Business Plumber. Kate Kelly tells us about Zen and the art of small business maintenance.

Our new Recommend a Friend scheme is starting to take off, it is great to see ISSBA members benefiting from this. Any current ISSBA member will get one month's free membership for each new member they recommend, plus the new member also gets one free month, so Win-Win! There are no limits to how many referrals each ISSBA member can make as long as you have a current, paid up membership, so if you bring in 12 new members you'll get a whole year for free!

GoCardless is making the renewal process much easier for many of our members. If you haven’t signed up yet, either let us know on or keep an eye on your inbox for an authorisation request. GoCardless is a direct debit system fully protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee and means that you never need to worry about forgetting to renew again.  By signing up to this you will help your committee save valuable time in chasing renewals, so please, if you aren’t already signed up, please do!

Don’t forget that if you have any suggestions/comments or would like to be considered for a future Member of the Month feature or you would like to write a business focus piece, please get in touch on
