Chair Report - September 2019

ISSBA Chair, Graham Barton, offers a snapshot of the latest ISSBA news.

Graham BartonHello all, I hope you’ve been enjoying a fantastic summer. At ISSBA, we are fully refreshed and raring to go!

Why not get your networking back on track by joining us for our September Meet the Members networking event on 25th September at Belstead Brook Muthu Hotel (thank you to them for sponsoring this event). Non members are also welcome. Get your business cards ready and book now!

One of our most popular events, Anglia Business Spotlight, will be on 16th October this year at Suffolk New College. Come along to watch eight ISSBA members being interviewed in front of the audience, ask some questions if you wish and then enjoy some refreshments and networking. Book your place now.

We are already well underway with preparations for Anglia Business Exhibition 2020. Read our ABE update article to find out more about Angela Aldous, our Sales, Promotion and Event Organiser for ABE20. Angela will be updating you each month on the latest ABE news.

Our Business Focus piece this month has been kindly written by MAD-HR. Read their article here to find out some important HR changes which are set to come into effect from April 2020 and will apply to employees, workers, agency staff, work seekers and self-employed individuals.

Our September Member of the Month is Priority Driver Training. Adrian Baldry tells us why advanced driver training is so important to every workforce.

Our new Recommend a Friend scheme is starting to take off, it is great to see ISSBA members benefiting from this. Any current ISSBA member will get one month's free membership for each new member they recommend, plus the new member also gets one free month, so Win-Win! There are no limits to how many referrals each ISSBA member can make as long as you have a current, paid up membership, so if you bring in 12 new members you'll get a whole year for free!

GoCardless is making the renewal process much easier for many of our members. If you haven’t signed up yet, either let us know on mail@issba.co.uk or keep an eye on your inbox for an authorisation request. GoCardless is a direct debit system fully protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee and means that you never need to worry about forgetting to renew again.  By signing up to this you will help your committee save valuable time in chasing renewals, so please, if you aren’t already signed up, please do!

Don’t forget that if you have any suggestions/comments or would like to be considered for a future Member of the Month feature or you would like to write a business focus piece, please get in touch on mail@issba.co.uk.
