ISSBA Chair, Graham Barton, offers a snapshot of the latest ISSBA news.

Graham BartonHello all, it has been a busy month at ISSBA so we have lots to tell you about!Hello all, it has been a busy month at ISSBA so we have lots to tell you about!

It was lovely to see lots of you at our September networking event, especially as it was my first event as ISSBA Chair! Thank you to all that attended and I’d also like to thank our sponsors, Manor Restaurant & Bar at Belstead Brook Hotel, for hosting our event. I am delighted to announce that we raised £70 for our charity of the year, Over the Rainbow Children’s Charity, with a raffle at this event so huge thanks to everyone that supported it.

We are looking forward to Anglia Business Spotlight on 16th October at Suffolk New College and I hope to see you there. It is always a very enjoyable and entertaining event with some networking and a light buffet included. Special thanks to our sponsors, Suffolk New College, and to Georgy Jamieson for kindly being our host and interviewer for the evening. Book your place now!

Some incredibly exciting Anglia Business Exhibition 2020 news this month – stands are now open for booking! This event always books up quickly so make sure you book your stand soon to get the position you want. We also have a variety of sponsorship packages available for a wide range of budgets if you really want to maximise your exposure. Find out more at www.angliabusinessexhibition.com and read our ABE update article to get the latest news.

As winter approaches and the nights draw in, security of business premises can become a concern. Read our Business Focus piece this month for some helpful advice on protecting your business. Thank you to Co-op Secure Response for writing this piece and sharing their knowledge and experience.

Our October Member of the Month is Andrew Chenery, Utility Warehouse. He shares some useful information about energy companies that offer green energy.

Our new Recommend a Friend scheme is starting to take off, it is great to see ISSBA members benefiting from this. Any current ISSBA member will get one month's free membership for each new member they recommend, plus the new member also gets one free month, so Win-Win! There are no limits to how many referrals each ISSBA member can make as long as you have a current, paid up membership, so if you bring in 12 new members, you'll get a whole year for free!

GoCardless is making the renewal process much easier for many of our members. If you haven’t signed up yet, either let us know on mail@issba.co.uk or keep an eye on your inbox for an authorisation request. GoCardless is a direct debit system fully protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee and means that you never need to worry about forgetting to renew again.  By signing up to this you will help your committee save valuable time in chasing renewals, so please, if you aren’t already signed up, please do!

Don’t forget that if you have any suggestions/comments or would like to be considered for a future Member of the Month feature or you would like to write a business focus piece, please get in touch on mail@issba.co.uk.
