Chair Report - June 2020

ISSBA Chair, Graham Barton, offers a snapshot of the latest ISSBA news

Graham BartonHello all, welcome to the ISSBA June newsletter. I hope you are all keeping safe and well.

Would you like to join the ISSBA committee? If so, let us know on as we currently have openings for a couple of new members to join our team. We are a friendly bunch and usually meet once per month (via Zoom currently!). As well as having a say in how the organisation is run, this is a fantastic opportunity to build your profile in the local area. Get in touch if you’d like to know more.

On 13th May, we hosted our ABE/ISSBA Virtual Summit which was a huge success. Thank you to everyone involved and everyone that took part. It was the first event of its kind in our region and provided talks, webinars and lots of networking. One lady told us she had just popped on to watch one of the 10 minute talks and ended up staying for a couple of hours!

Our next event is online networking on Tuesday 16th June. It is free to attend but book here so we can send you the joining details.

This year’s AGM will also be held online via Zoom and will take place on 1st July so make sure you’ve booked your place.

Anglia Business Exhibition 2020 – the physical exhibition has been moved to 8th September and will provide a really valuable tool to help businesses reconnect and promote themselves. We are grateful for all of your support and hope you will join us to really celebrate our business community. Make sure you’ve booked your stand, prices start at just £195 plus VAT. Don’t forget that if you haven’t yet booked, you can secure your stand with just a 40% deposit payable now with the balance not due until 8th August. Visit to book or email for further info.

This month’s Business Focus piece has been written by Masterlord Estates Ltd. As many businesses are in the process of or thinking about moving back to their offices or premises, they tell us about how they are helping their tenants to remain safe at their premises such as Epsilon House.

Don’t forget our Recommend a Friend, it is great to see ISSBA members benefiting from this. Any current ISSBA member will get one month's free membership for each new member they recommend, plus the new member also gets one free month, so Win-Win! There are no limits to how many referrals each ISSBA member can make as long as you have a current, paid up membership, so if you bring in 12 new members, you'll get a whole year for free!

We understand that many businesses are currently being very careful about what they spend their money on so we currently have a special offer for new members – join before 14th June and get 15 months for the price of 12!

GoCardless is making the renewal process much easier for many of our members. If you haven’t signed up yet, either let us know on or keep an eye on your inbox for an authorisation request. GoCardless is a direct debit system fully protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee and means that you never need to worry about forgetting to renew again.  By signing up to this you will help your committee save valuable time in chasing renewals, so please, if you aren’t already signed up, please do!

Don’t forget that if you have any suggestions/comments or would like to be considered for a future Member of the Month feature or you would like to write a business focus piece, please get in touch on

Keep well and stay safe!
