Find out the latest news from our Charity of the Year - Lighthouse Women's Aid

Lighthouse WA thumbnail lhouse with strapAs ISSBA’s Charity of the Year, Lighthouse is looking forward to connecting with more members at upcoming networking events. Having met with Merie, we are delighted to announce that we will be hosting one of the networking events at our Women’s Centre at Felixstowe Road early in 2024. This will not only offer another wonderful opportunity for networking but will also provide members with some real insights into the amazing work that goes on at Lighthouse.

Lighthouse is keen to offer all ISSBA members some awareness training on Domestic Abuse (DA). The stats for DA are so shocking that we believe that during our lifetimes there is the potential for us all to come across a person who is experiencing DA abuse. It is alarming that the age group most at risk is 18-24 yrs., so knowing how to respond in order to help someone in the best possible way is worthy of two hours of our time. We will not be charging members for this training, however, we will invite attendees to make a donation to Lighthouse if they so wish. I really hope you will all take up this opportunity.

The date of the training has been set for 13th March 2-4 pm and will be delivered by myself, Debra Gingell via zoom. So, pop the date in the diary now, and book your place here. We will send out the zoom link to you closer to the date.

There are so many ways businesses can support Lighthouse, and Merie and myself are keen to hear from anyone who has some good fundraising suggestions.
