Each year the ISSBA committee selects a charity to support for the year ahead. This year we are delighted to announce that we will be supporting Suffolk Mind.
At Suffolk Mind, we are committed to making Suffolk the best place in the world for talking about and taking care of mental health. Our mission is to ensure that everyone, regardless of age, has access to the support and resources they need to look after the mental wellbeing of themselves and those around them.
We believe that mental health, like physical health, exists on a continuum. Our mental wellbeing can change based on life's challenges, stresses and whether our emotional needs are met. To address these changes, we offer a range of services:
The Mental Health Kitbag: Designed for children and young people, this program provides skills-based sessions to help them understand and manage their mental health. We also offer resources for parents, teachers, and caregivers to support the young people in their lives.
Support Services: We provide a range of services to support adults with their mental health including counselling, GreenCare, employment support, and our nighttime emotional support line.
The Mental Health Toolkit: Practical training for organizations to create mentally healthy workplaces, covering stress management, effective communication, and supportive workplace culture.
By working across the Mental Health Continuum, we strive to provide support and information for everyone, helping to create a local community where mental health is openly discussed and people can create a life that works.
Jon Neal, CEO of Suffolk Mind says, ‘Thank you to ISSBA for choosing to support us as your Charity of the Year. We’re looking forward to the events throughout the year, and the chance to talk to people across the county about the work we do in their local community.’
